Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Old Rectory in Salisbury, I felt a blend of comfort and culinary delight that accurately reflects the charm of this Victorian B&B. The breakfast experience was particularly memorable, served at individual tables nestled in a sunlit room overlooking a beautifully maintained garden. Each morning, I savoured an array of dishes crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients obtained from local suppliers-an approach reminiscent of the meticulous sourcing we emphasize in archaeological fieldwork. What struck me most was the attentive preparation; my eggs were cooked to order, accompanied by artisanal bread, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee completed the scene. The thoughtful presence of a cafetière, kettle, and an assortment of teas and biscuits in my room added to the leisurely atmosphere, allowing me to start my day without haste. Situated conveniently near local attractions, this establishment serves as an ideal base for exploring Salisbury's rich history. I wholeheartedly recommend the Old Rectory to fellow food enthusiasts seeking both culinary excellence and a serene retreat.
